Hydraulic Grabs
Hydraulic Grabs GRABIRON®

GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs are a modern British-Ukrainian product certified under ISO 9001 international quality standards and Ukrainian Technical Specifications TU U 29.2-13425008-010. These grabs are engineered for transport, stacking, loading, and unloading operations involving bulk materials, various types of scrap metal, timber, as well as certain types of piece cargo. They operate at ambient temperatures from -40°C to +40°C (GOST 15150-69) in non-corrosive environments free of chemically active gases, vapors, or dust that degrade metals and electrical insulation .
GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs feature a multi-jaw design engineered for efficient loading and unloading of trucks, railcars, vessels, etc. Depending on operational requirements, the grab frame structure is fabricated from 09G2S, 10KhSND, and HARDOX (450, 600) steel grades. Our structural steel fabrication meets the quality standards of the German company Epiroc, as our manufacturing plant produces structural components for Epiroc excavator attachments.
GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs mean quality — manufactured in strict accordance with Ukrainian Technical Specifications (TU U), fully refined, and thoroughly field-tested under heavy-duty conditions of scrap processing and bulk material handling. Key clients include mining and metallurgical enterprises as well as major scrap recycling companies. In design, materials, and operational performance, our product not only matches German equivalents but surpasses them across several parameters. The GRABIRON® design has zero weak spots.
GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs deliver versatility conforming to international standards. The grabs are engineered so that the rotator, hydraulic cylinders, hoses, pins, protective covers, and bolts are fully interchangeable with widely used imported equivalents, making seamless integration into your machinery fleet exceptionally convenient.
GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs offer unrivaled cost efficiency. While most Western European competitors assemble grabs from outsourced components, our plant maintains a complete full-cycle manufacturing process — including casting and final assembly — sourcing only two primary assemblies externally: hydraulics (Italy) and rotators (Sweden).
GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs feature complete warranty and service coverage. When equipment breaks down, foreign manufacturers often attribute failure to improper operation by the Customer, resulting in warranty denial — alongside complex re-export procedures required for overseas repairs. Located in central Ukraine, our manufacturing plant is ready to resolve issues quickly and return equipment to operation. Our warranty coverage is 12 calendar months from the date of delivery, backed by post-warranty service support. The operational lifespan is at least 5 years. Components and spare parts are supplied directly from warehouse inventory and can be delivered anywhere in Ukraine within 24 hours at competitive rates. With your first grab order, a basic repair kit and one spare hydraulic cylinder are included free of charge.

GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs – shortest manufacturing / delivery times. Within 60 calendar days from down payment, compared to up to 120 days for foreign competitors.
GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs comply with key regulatory and normative standards governing lifting mechanisms and equipment: HS Code: 8431410000; “NPAOP 0.00-1.80-18 (formerly NPAOP 0.00-1.01-07) Rules for Design and Safe Operation of Cranes, Lifting Mechanisms, and Equipment”; “KND 31.4.002-96 Regulations for Technical Operation of Material Handling Equipment in Seaports”; “RD 31.82.03-87 Occupational Safety Regulations in Seaports”.
GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs can be manufactured for specialized technological applications and operating conditions. In addition to standard models, we can design custom grabs tailored to the Customer’s specific needs. In certain cases, manufacturing based on the Customer’s existing technical drawings is available. Optional modifications and accessories include: load hook; grab extensions; replaceable cutting edges and tines; mounting links for any loader / material handler booms; custom jaws upon request; slewing ring or Indexator rotators; quick-disconnect hydraulic couplings.
GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs represent a local concentration of advanced technology integrated within a highly efficient production facility, managed under strict British quality control standards. All equipment is engineered with a high safety factor, ensuring that harsh climatic conditions, rigorous duty cycles, or operator errors will not compromise your investment.
GRABIRON® hydraulic grabs are adapted for material handlers, cranes, and excavators from the following manufacturers: Caterpillar, Liebherr, Sennebogen, Volvo, Atlas, Terex Fuchs, O&K, Hitachi, Komatsu, JCB, Hyundai, Sobemai, Samsung, Manitowoc, American, Link-Belt, XCMG, Sany Heavy Industry, SWF Krantechnik, Fantuzzi, Konecranes, Kocks Ardelt Kranbau, ABUS Kransysteme, Famak, Shanghai Port Machinery Heavy Industries, Ganz Danubius, Kobelco.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The lifting capacity of an electromagnet is the maximum load weight permitted to be lifted and moved by the magnet. It typically equals 0.5 of the breakaway (tear-off) force, providing a safety factor for secure operation.
The lifting capacity depends on the magnitude of the magnetic flux in the core. The flux increases as the magnetomotive force increases and as the magnetic reluctance of the circuit decreases.
Copper coils cost twice as much as aluminum ones; copper has 1.7 times higher conductivity than aluminum; copper density is 3.3 times higher than aluminum; copper’s specific heat capacity is 3 times lower than aluminum’s; copper coils offer more repair cycles and a longer service life than aluminum.
Welded steel housings are simple and cost-effective to produce. The advantages of a cast magnetic core over a welded one include cooling fins, greater operational durability, solid structural integrity, and the complete absence of internal air gaps.
Overheating, lower density of scrap metal, switching to metal stock with larger air gaps, and malfunctions in the control cabinet (voltage converter).
Improper operation (faulty control cabinet, overheating, moisture exposure, overvoltage), coil-to-housing breakdown (ground fault), open-circuit/broken conductors, and inter-turn short circuits within the coil.
